Manhattan Review is a worldwide test prep company with offices in major Asian, European, North American, African, and Latin American cities. We were drawn to the city of Seoul because of its reputation as an important regional and world center for education. Seoul National University is a major research institution that has been ranked among the top 150 universities in the world. A 2013 article published in the KEDI Journal of Education Policy found that graduates of this institution enjoyed wages that were 12% higher than those received by alumni of any other Korean university. Seoul National University's reputation is especially strong for modern languages, pharmacology, and chemical engineering. Another prestigious local institution is Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU). The Yeouido financial district, where the Korea Exchange and several banks are located, has been referred to as "Korea's Wall Street." South Korea as a whole is one of the largest economies in Asia and the world, and the city of Seoul plays a significant role in prominent national industries such as shipbuilding and information technology. The latter in particular is supported by strong infrastructure, which has helped establish Seoul's reputation as a center for technology innovations. Although the instability of North Korea has had some negative effects on its southern neighbor, South Korea represents one of the most rapid transitions to a modern economy that the world has ever seen.

Meet a Seoul Tutor: Clayton T.
Clayton T., originally from Kansas City, Missouri, has 11 years of experience as a GRE tutor and classroom instructor. He taught GRE prep in his home city before moving to Seoul in 2016, and he has quickly become a valued member of our local team. In addition to GRE tutoring, Clayton is also an experienced English language teacher who provides instruction to private and corporate clients.
Clayton is a graduate of the University of Kansas (bachelor's degree in English literature) and the University of Nebraska (master's degree in education). His graduate education was partially funded by a merit scholarship, and his high GRE scores helped him receive this financial aid. Clayton's GRE teaching has helped students from many GRE-relevant fields get accepted to high-quality graduate programs.
